FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A little clarity
before you begin.
Practical answers about treatment, communication, and the cost of care at Root & Remedy Psychiatry.
TREATMENT & COORDINATION
Understanding your care.
How do I request an appointment?
Visit Appointments to view availability and request a time through SimplePractice. Danielle reviews the request, and your appointment is confirmed after she accepts it. Look for confirmation from SimplePractice before treating the appointment as scheduled.
Do you prescribe controlled medications?
Controlled medications may be considered when clinically appropriate, based on your individual evaluation, safety, and applicable prescribing requirements. A requested medication or previous prescription does not guarantee that it will be prescribed.
Can I see you if I already have a therapist?
Yes. Psychiatric evaluation and medication management can complement ongoing therapy. Danielle may coordinate with your therapist with your permission. Traditional weekly psychotherapy is not the primary service at Root & Remedy, although supportive psychotherapy may be included in extended psychiatric visits.
Can you coordinate with my therapist, primary care provider, or OB-GYN?
Yes. When helpful, Danielle can coordinate with your therapist, primary care provider, or OB-GYN with your written permission.
What if I need lab work?
Danielle may request appropriate laboratory testing as part of your evaluation or medication planning. She will explain what is requested and why. Testing is considered according to your individual needs.
What if I become pregnant, am planning pregnancy, or am breastfeeding?
Contact Danielle promptly to discuss individualized treatment planning and medication questions. Do not abruptly stop psychiatric medication without instruction. When appropriate, Danielle may coordinate with your OB-GYN or a specialist.
Can you complete disability or FMLA paperwork?
Documentation may be considered for established patients when clinically appropriate and supported by sufficient information. Completion is not guaranteed and may require an appointment and/or an administrative fee. Completing documentation does not guarantee approval of benefits or leave.
Can you prescribe medication for ADHD?
ADHD evaluation and treatment may be provided when clinically appropriate. Stimulant prescribing is not guaranteed; treatment depends on a comprehensive assessment and selection of an appropriate option for you.
What if I travel or move outside Pennsylvania?
Please notify the practice before your appointment. Root & Remedy provides telehealth care serving Pennsylvania. Care depends on your physical location at the time of the visit and applicable requirements, so an appointment may need to be rescheduled.
BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS
Staying in touch.
How do I contact you between appointments?
Established patients can sign in to the SimplePractice Client Portal and follow Danielle’s instructions for nonurgent clinical communication. Brief questions may be handled through messaging; concerns that require assessment or medication changes may require an appointment.
The practice’s public phone and email are for general inquiries. Please do not include sensitive medical details in ordinary email. Portal messages and email are not emergency channels.
How quickly should I expect a response?
Nonurgent messages are generally answered within 1–2 business days. Messages received outside business hours, on weekends, or on holidays may not be reviewed until the next business day. This is not an urgent-response service.
FEES & INSURANCE
Planning for the cost of care.
Do you accept insurance?
Root & Remedy is a self-pay practice and does not bill insurance or third parties. You can find appointment fees, visit lengths, and billing information on the Fees & Insurance page.
Can I get a superbill for my insurance?
Yes. Superbills are available upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement. A superbill is an itemized document you can submit to your insurer. Reimbursement depends on your plan and is not guaranteed. Ask your insurer about your out-of-network coverage, and see Fees & Insurance for more information.
Are reduced-fee appointments available?
A limited number of reduced-fee appointments are reserved for patients experiencing financial hardship. Availability is limited and determined individually. Read more on the Fees & Insurance page or contact the practice with a general inquiry.
